Good afternoon, not long until Christmas although it will be a little different for us all this year.
Today I'm sharing how to make this inky Visible Image Christmas card using distress oxides and the fab O Christmas Tree stamp from Visible Image.

Visible Image - Love is Immortal

Happy Tuesday everyone. I thought I'd do a quick overview of my Forever Love sample, for the new Visible Image release. I had a couple of attempts at the design, white embossing, putting the words between strips of barbed wire but ended up with this quite simple black, white and red one which seemed to work well.

Visible Image - Phoenix Rises in Pink & Gold

Have you seen the beautiful new Visible Image stamps being released this month? This was the first card I made using this awesome set. I really enjoy making bright backgrounds with black silhouettes so it was always going to be bright and blingy with a super dark phoenix.  I got to dip into my collection of sparkly paint and embossing powders. A very happy crafting afternoon 💖

Visible Image Bonfire Daisies

Happy Tuesday - sharing a card made for the October shows. Perfect for Autumn with bonfire coloured daisies and a Catherine wheel inspired background - things I remember from years gone by, I have an incinerator bin for paper now which is safer for the garden wildlife and we watch the fireworks on the telly.

And off we go ....

Visible Image Snowflake Sparkle

Happy Tuesday again, these weeks are flying past. Today I'd like to share how to make this sparkly pink card using Visible Image's Christmas 2020 stamps. These are due to be released on Friday, 18th September.

It doesn't take long to make the card and you could change the colour scheme if you are not a fan of pink

Visible Image CAS Rainbow Christmas

Here's a clean and simple card using the fab new Christmas 2020 stamps by Visible Image.

I've used a stamping platform for this tutorial but you could use acrylic blocks instead.A big challenge for me when making this card was keeping my hands clean so I didn't smudge ink on the card 😅.

Visible Image Forest Dreams

I thought I would show you how I created my Forest Dreams card using the beautiful Forest Stencil from Visible Image. It took a little while to make but I think it was well worth it 😎.

There is a list of things you will need at the end of this post and links to the shops and social media groups.

And here we go...

First cut a piece of white card 6" x 6". Use the blending tool to apply Ocean Blue and Midnight inks over the card so that you have lighter and darker patches. Then add a little Plum Pudding over bits of the card and all around the edges. You could use any dye based ink instead eg Distress inks to get the same effect.

Stingrays anyone? only on paper

We were lucky enough to have a few Caribbean holidays in the past, so glad we went on adventures and didn't wait until retirement. The colours of the ocean and the sandy beaches were just stunning.

One of the excursions was to visit Stingray City, we didn't do that one and I was pretty relieved when we watched the video that they showed afterwards, the rays were really keen to get fed and flapped up onto some of the people - eek!

These are my kind of stingrays, stamps from Joy! Crafts. I made the background using Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders

Dreaming of the Deep Blue Sea

I was sorting through some stamps in my stash, as we do in lockdown, and found some beauties that I hadn't used yet from Joy! Crafts from their No Journey's end collection.

They work so well with the Dare to Swim set from Visible Image.

I used pixie powders on the background and stamped with Distress Oxides.

Tues 4th Aug 2020 - Visible Image - Summer Wings Transformation

Today I am sharing a quick and simple card - the black and white butterflies transform as they fly through a coloured band and pick up their beautiful new shades of green and blue.

I've used the quirky new Visible Image Summer Wings stamps and Entwined Butterflies stencil. Just two colours of Distress Oxides Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron.
Please excuse the state of my masking tape, I'm a bit thrifty with it.

Here is today's project....

Daily Arts Samples - Hochanda Tuesday 22nd June 2020

Here are the samples I did for the Daily Arts shows on Hochanda on Monday 22nd June 2020. I got to play with the fab mini mandala stencils, crackle lacquers, gloss varnish and the stunning pigment powders.

I used yellow and green distress inks through the stencil to make the flower heads, masking off the front 2 when inking up the ones at the back.

Drew in the stems and leaves with a black fine liner pen then drew around every inked shape - it took a while.

Then painted the leaves and stems, added some doodles with the black fine liner, used a grey alcohol pen to add some shadows.

The sentiment is a Cheery Lynn die.

An old video - Day of the Dead

This is a video of the samples I made for Sheena's Day of The Dead launch way back in 2016. I was on Sheena's DT for nearly 5 years and had a ball working with lots of fab releases, this one being one of my all time favourites.

Hope you enjoyed this video and thank you for stopping by 😎 xxx

Triple Embossing

Triple Embossing

This is my take on on the Triple Embossing technique, it has been around for ages, probably since the invention of heat guns and thermographic powder. It can turn bits of inked up card into little jewelled creations - fabulous !!

You will need

Harmony inks/Distress inks
Sparkle gel pen
Finesse/Archival ink
Versamark/Finesse Embossing ink
4 ½ inch square white card
Clear embossing powder
Black & purple card matts
Heat gun
Enjoy the Silence stamp
Blending tool & foams
Black Gesso
Pokey tool or Tweezers
Fine Paint Brush
7”x7” card blank & scrap paper

Swap out this tree silhouette for any of your favourite stamped images and play with this technique, it’s fun
Happy Crafting, Alison xx
