Visible Image - Sunny Birthday

This week I've used the gorgeous Sunflower Grunge stamps from Visible Image to make a bright and sunny birthday card for my mum, December might be very and cold here but I bet it is lovely on the other side of the world. Here are some how to's if you would like to make something similar 😊

Visible Image - Happy Birthday, You're a Classic

This week I'm sharing a card I've made for my dad's birthday in December. His father had a black car similar to this in the early 1950's. He has always loved cars and he gave his well loved and a bit battered, toy car collection, to my son in law for dad's great grand children to play with when they are a bit older. I know he will love this πŸ’–

Visible Image - Black Cat Magic

This week I am sharing my Isabella Dreams sample using the new stamps and coordinating dies which are being released on September 22nd (available to preorder now).
I blended Spectrum Noir harmony inks for my base layer then stamped the ‘Round in Circles’ background stamp in distress oxide inks and some white heat embossing. I then applied black texture paste through ‘Baroque Frame’ stencil and added black glitter. I stamped and coloured Isabella with Triblend markers, and die cut her together with the cats and rose from the set. The text stamp was embossed in white on black card and cut out. I then adhered all the images and sentiment to my background.

Visible Image - Regal Poinsettia - 3rd Sept 2023

Had a lovely time playing with the new release of Visible Image dies, went to town with black card, gold embossing powder and iridescent watercolours 😎

To start off, wipe an anti static pad over black card, stamp 3 large flowers and 9 small flowers using pigment ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
Cut out using the new Poinsettia Grunge dies. Cut an extra 5 or 6 large flowers out of the black card (doesn't need to be stamped).

Cut a piece of black card 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", stamp the large flower using pigment ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Stamp over the edge in places.

Use pva glue to fix the black flower die cuts together. Use a little gold acrylic paint on a sponge to colour the edges of the thick black flower.

Use the sponge to edge around the stamped panel and then wipe the excess paint onto scrap black card.

Cut down 2 of the large stamped flowers so they will layer up.

If the gold embossed edge flake off, fill in the missing line with a gold gel pen.

Paint the flowers with iridescent/metallic watercolour paints.

Attach the complete painted flower to the black stack using pva glue.
Cut a strip of black card 1 3/4"  and fix to the left hand side of the panel using pva glue and trim down.

Matt onto black card with a border of 1/4" and then onto a white 7" x 7" card blank using pva glue.

Stamp the Christmas and Poinsettia sentiments onto black card with pigment ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Trim down and then matt and layer into the painted gold scrap card with approx 1/16" border.

Fix the large flower stack near the top of the black strip using red liner tape and pva glue.
Shape the two cut flower petals with your hands and fix to the card using 3d glue gel.
Fix the sentiments using 3d foam tape. Add a couple of adhesive gems to the top right hand side.
Here is my finished card.
I hope you have enjoyed this project, thanks for stopping by,
Ali xxx

Visible Image - Butterfly Journey

Playing with the fabulous Entwined Butterflies stencil from Visible Image today. It looks quite delicate but it is strong enough to hold its own on a card with just a little ink and a sentiment.

Bee Crafty samples from MDF Day

Here are my samples from the Get to Know Bee Crafty MDF day on Thursday 20th Oct.

Small canvas board - using elements from the Seaside set - painted the board with Dylusions paints, stamped black gesso using the seaweed and dark blue paint with the netting piece, drew around the fish pieces before painting them and fixing them on with pva glue. As fish are said to have very short memories, added the "Are you new here?" Wordy sticker.

Bee Crafty - Bargello Butterfly

Can't quite concentrate at the moment so I've gone  with a technique post this week. Bargello paper quilting with a few of the larger shimmery pieces in my fodder box. This traditional quilting technique has been around for a while and I have seen different paper versions by Julia Watts and SplitCoastStampers. The repetitive measuring, cutting & sticking is a very mindful process and a lovely way of using up your scraps
