Visible Image - Happy Birthday, You're a Classic

This week I'm sharing a card I've made for my dad's birthday in December. His father had a black car similar to this in the early 1950's. He has always loved cars and he gave his well loved and a bit battered, toy car collection, to my son in law for dad's great grand children to play with when they are a bit older. I know he will love this 💖

I cut a 5 1/2" wide strip from an A4 stamping card sheet and loaded it into a stamping platform. I stamped the large car from the Visible Image with black versafine Claire a few times to get a deep solid image. Then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

To get a thicker, more glossy image, I stamped again with versamark and clear heat embossed.

I stamped the car using archival ink onto a masking sheet and cut out with scissors.

I placed the mask over the car then taped the Strobes stencil over the panel.

Then brushed Distress Oxide ink in Shabby Shutters, Weathered Wood and Salvaged Patina on opposite sides of the stencil.

Carefully removed the stencil and the mask.

Trimmed the excess white card from 2 sides of the panel then flicked water to faux bleach and dried with a paper towel.

Dried the edges of the panel using a heat tool, avoiding the embossed car.

Then inked around the sides with black ink.

Used pva glue to matt and layer onto black card with a 1/8" border and then on to a white 7" x 7" card blank.

Stamped the blueprint car and Classic sentiment inside the card with black versafine ink.

Patted an anti static pad over a scrap of black card, stamped the Happy Birthday with white pigment ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder.

Fixed the sentiment using foam pads to the base of the card and added 2 black gems to the top right hand side
