Visible Image - Brightening the World

Wow August already, this year is flying past. This week I'm sticking to one of my favourite mediums, black gesso, with bright colours provided by the Spectrum Noir Harmony inks which blend together beautifully. I have used the fab positive sentiment from the Visible Image Brighten The World sentiment set and their Collisions stencil.

Cut a piece of white 300gsm card stock to 6" x 6" and pick a yellow, a pink and a blue blending ink. I've used Spectrum Noir Harmony Inks in Lemon Tonic, Fuchsia and Ocean Blue.

Take the yellow ink and blend over 3 or 4 places on your card, then take the pink and fill in some of the white spaces, blending with the yellow on the edges. Then use the blue ink to fill in the gaps, blending into the yellow and the pink where they meet.

Avoid mixing all 3 colours as this will make a murky brown colour.

Tape the Visible Image Collision stencil over the centre of your card using low tack tape.

Tip some black gesso into an old tin tray and pick up a little on a bit of kitchen sponge. Tap off the excess gesso onto your craft mat, you need it to be quite dry so it doesn't go under the stencil.

Cover your card using pouncing movements and reapply the black gesso where required.

Carefully remove your stencil and put it in some soapy water to soak.
Dry your card with a heat gun.

Use a steel edge ruler and a craft knife to cut your black panel from the centre of the card.

Add some white splatters by tapping a white paint pen over the black panel.

Mount your back panel onto white card with a 1/16" border, then onto black card with a 1/8" border using pva glue.
Attach this to your inked cut out piece using a bit of tape on the back, then cut down leaving a 1/8" border.
Then mount this onto black card with a 1/4" border and onto a white 7" x 7" card blank.

Stamp the Black and White World sentiment onto black card with versamark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Cut the sentiment up as shown here.

Glue the "ing" to the "Find" and mount these onto white card leaving border of 1/16.

Attach the sentiments to your card with 3d foam tape.

Use glossy accents on the coloured circles and leave to dry.

I hope you have enjoyed this project and thanks for stopping by ðŸ’–,
