Visible Image Green & Gold Dragonfly Reflection

Today I'm blogging how to make this A5 card using the gorgeous new Dragonfly Reflection stamps from Visible Image. There are so many beautiful stamps on this set that it was hard to limit myself but I was aiming for a clean-ish design on this one (also I only had Tuesday morning to make it as we went to Eastham Woods with our daughter Jen and our grandkids in the afternoon). We had a lovely family afternoon 💖.

To start off, score and fold a sheet of white A4 300gsm card in half to make your card blank.
Cut a 7cm strip off a second sheet to make a topper the same length as your card blank.

Wipe over your card with an anti static pad then stamp the circle & hashes stamp over it with versamark ink and heat emboss with gold holographic embossing powder.

Repeat with the splatter circle stamp, linking the circles to add interest.

Wipe over piece of heat resistant acetate with your anti static pad. Stamp the 2 dragonfly wing stamps in versamark ink and gently heat emboss with gold holographic embossing powder.

Cut around the wings leaving a bit extra (tabs) at the base of the wings for glueing later.

Apply some blue and green Distress Oxide ink onto your craft mat and spritz with a little water. I used Peacock Feathers and Rustic Wilderness.

Press your stamped panel onto your mat to pick up some colour, repeat until you have most of the piece covered.
Use a damp brush to pick up the left over ink to fill in any large white patches then leave to dry naturally.

Wipe the front of your A5 card blank with an anti static pad then stamp the dragonfly using black versafine ink at an angle towards the top of the card as shown in this pic. Then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Stamp another dragonfly on some scrap white card and clear heat emboss as before.

You could use a stamp platform to overstamp a couple of times to get a darker image.

Colour the dragonfly using Distress Oxides (mustard seed, peacock feathers and rustic wilderness)

These wings are going to be covered by the sparkly acetate, so don't worry about being super neat.
Cut out the dragonfly leaving a little border around it.

Use your blending foam to add a little Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges of the dragonfly and the coloured panel to create a vignette.

Glue the coloured panel to black card leaving a 1/16" border at the sides.
Then onto gold pearl card leaving a 1/8" border at the sides.

Glue your coloured panel to your card blank, over the black embossed dragonfly towards the left hand side of the card.

Curve the dragonfly wings using your fingers to lift them a little and attach it to your card using pva on the body and 3d glue gel under the wings next to the body.

Fix the sparkle acetate wings using 3d glue gel on the tabs you left.

Add a couple of green gems to the top right on your card

Stamp a sentiment onto white card with black versafine ink and clear heat emboss.
Cut around your sentiment then attach it to black card and cut down to leave about 1/16" border all round.
Use a gold sparkle pen to doodle around the edges.
Fix to your bottom of your card using 3d foam pads.

Your card will now look a bit like mine ....

I hope you have enjoyed this project and thanks for stopping by ðŸ’–,
