Visible Image The Butterfly Effect

We have some stunning new A5 stamp sets being released by Visible Image on May 21st, you can pre-order on the website, links are at the end of this post.
I used the gorgeous new Butterfly Effect stamp set on this 10" x 7" card along with plenty of heat embossing and the bling is provided by Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders.

Cut a piece of 300gsm white card 9" x 6", spritz a little water on the back to help keep it flat and then spritz the front on the card.

Tap Midnight Blue, Peacock Green and Golden Mint Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders on the card in different sections. Spritz more water to activate the powder. Use a paper towel to soak up the water run off and dry your card with a heat tool (or if you are patient, leave to dry overnight).

Wipe over your dry card with an anti static pad then stamp the large rings stamp diagonally across your card with versamark ink and heat emboss with white detail embossing powder.

Stamp the rings over the two remaining corners and white heat emboss as before.

Stamp the small butterfly using black versafine ink up the sides of the card and heat emboss with black detail embossing powder.

Change the direction as you stamp so that the butterflies look like they are following a waggly trail.

Stamp the large butterfly 3 times onto white card using black versafine ink . Use a stamping platform is you have one to overstamp to get a really deep black impression.
Then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Cut out the butterflies leaving a thin white outline around them. If you cut into the embossed area it may flake off.

Stamp the sentiments onto white card with black versafine ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder as before.

Cut out your sentiments and matt them onto black card leaving about 1/8" border.

Use a blending tool and black soot  distress ink around the edges of your card to add a vignette.

Matt this onto white paper/card leaving approx 1/16" border
Then onto a black card matt with approx 3/16" border  and then attach to your white 10" x 7" white card blank using pva glue or double sided tape.

Position your butterflies and text on your card without sticking them down and move them about until you are happy with the layout.
I started with 3 butterflies but decided 2 looked better.
Take a photo of your layout.

Tip a little of the Green Mint and Peacock Green Pixie Powders onto separate areas of your craft mat and add a drop of water to each.
Paint your butterflies and u
se your heat gun on the back to dry them.

Shape the wings of the butterflies using your fingers to make them lift.

Checking your layout you decided on earlier, fix your sentiments using 3d foam tape. Apply pva glue to the body of your butterflies and a big blob of 3d glue gel to the inner parts of the wings, then fix the butterflies to your card.

Leave the glue gel to set for about 20 minutes.

Colour the circles on the sentiments with your left over pixie powder paint and add glossy accents.
Your finished card will look a bit like mine 😎

I hope you have enjoyed this project and thanks for stopping by ðŸ’–,
