Visible Image - Inky Roses

It's my turn to blog for Visible Image and I've been playing with these fab stencils to make a couple of cards for my friends. These were fun and easy to make.

To make the DL card take a A4 piece of 300gsm white stamping card, cut it down to 210mm x 196mm and scoring at 98mm.

Trim the left over strip to 84mm x 194mm to make the card topper.

Tape the Visible Image Inky Swirls stencil over the bottom 2/3's of your card strip with masking tape. Use a brush or blending foam to apply the weathered wood distress oxide ink through the stencil, add a little black soot distress oxide in places - avoid the straight edge at the top of the stencil.

Wipe the ink off the stencil, flip it over and move it over the top 1/3. Match up the swirls as best you can and ink up as before. Flick a little water over your inked card, leave for a few seconds and then pickup the drops with paper towel.

Wipe over another piece of white stamping card with an anti static bag. Then stamp the rose from Visible Image's Random Art of Kindness 6 times using black versafine ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Fussy cut the roses, I cut slightly outside of the embossed lines.

Colour the roses with a base coat of orange ink and then add the red and pink ink.

Use the remaining orange and pink on your applicators to colour a sentiment from the VI Words of Support stencil onto white card with the orange at the top and the pink at the bottom.
Heat emboss with clear embossing powder as before.

Trim the sentiment and mount it onto a scrap of black card with a border of about 1.5mm (1/16").

Stamp the flower stem 3 times using black versafine ink as above and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Glue your inked piece onto a larger piece of black card with a border of about 3mm (1/8").

Glue 3 of the roses flat onto the topper using pva glue. Shape the remaining 3 roses using your fingers and use 3d foam to fix them onto your card.

Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the flower heads, then doodle around the outside of your card with a fine black liner pen.

Colour the circles on the stems with a red pen and then cover these with glossy accents.

Attach your card topper to the white DL card blank you made earlier and attach the sentiment using 3d foam to the bottom right hand corner.

Your finished card will look like this 😎

To make another square card the process is the same except you don't need to move the stencil and only 4 roses are needed. I found this card even quicker to make 😀

The measurements for the 6"x 6" square card are
            card topper - white stamping card 130mm x 130mm
            black card matt - 138mm x 138mm

I used a different sentiment and a couple of adhesive gems on this one...

I hope you have enjoyed this project and thanks for stopping by ðŸ’–,
