CE Sam Poole Mixed Media Vintage Rose card

I got to play with some of Sam Poole's gorgeous new collection from Creative Expressions and made this card using the Vintage Rose die.

Cut 2 pieces of bright white card 140mm x 110mm (5 ½” x 4 ¼”).

Take one piece and apply Italian Plum and Coffee Bean Botanical stains using a damp flat brush in one direction over the card.

Dry with a heat gun or leave to dry naturally.

Take the small hearts Textures stamp, apply a little Chocolate Bronze metallic polish to the stamp using the foam applicator and stamp over a few sections of your inked card.

A light spritz of water on the foam applicator will help if the polish is drying very quickly.

Use the Treasure Gold metallic polish with another of the texture stamps and stamp over the card again.

Take the Vintage Rose die, place in the centre of the card and pass it through a die cutting machine.

Remove all of the die cut bits and keep them for another project.

Take the Scripted Dates Transfer sheet out of its packet and set the vellum backing aside.

Cut out a selection of transfers and apply them to the coloured piece using the wooden lolly stick.

Die cut another Vintage Rose out of scrap card to use as a stencil.

Use Chocolate Bronze metallic polish to stencil some leaves at the top left and bottom right corners.

Apply bronze polish around the edges of the card to add a vignette.

Colour the second white piece with the Treasure Gold and Chocolate Bronze metallic polishes.

Apply across the card in one direction, spritz the foam applicators with a light mist of water to help blend the colours.

Leave the card to dry, the polishes dry very quickly.

Position the Forget Me Not stencil over the polished card and apply Golden Flamingo Opal Polish with a pouncing action to avoid it going under the stencil.

Reapply to get a deeper cover.

Remove and wash the stencil in warm water.

The opal stencilled piece will look like this.

Use pva glue, craft knife and steel edged ruler to matt and layer the stencilled piece onto black card with a 1.5mm border (1/16”),

onto white card with a 3mm border (⅛”)

and then onto black card with a border of 6mm (¼”).

Use pva to fix this to the front of an A5 white card blank and trim down if required.

Apply 3D sticky foam pads to the back of the die cut piece and add a little pva glue.

Fix this directly over the stencilled piece.

Stamp one of the sentiments from the Woodware Word Fragments 2 stamps onto white card, trim it down and matt it onto a slightly large strip of black card.

Attach this to the top left of the card with 3d foam pads.

I used the die cut waste from the rose card to decorate this tag 😊

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and thanks for stopping by,
